How the Plans Work

Security 65®

Prescription Drug Benefit Resources

With Security 65 — a Medicare supplement insurance (“Medigap”) policy — there is no need to select a primary care physician, and you don’t need a referral to see a specialist. Virtually all hospitals and doctors honor the Security 65 identification card.

Generally, there are no hospital or doctor’s claim forms to file. We deal directly with contracting medical providers and pay them directly, so you won’t have the hassle of filing claims yourself.

You are eligible to join if you are enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B, and live in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties.

When you enroll in Security 65, you continue to pay your Medicare Part A premium (if applicable) and your Medicare Part B premium in addition to your Security 65 premium. In return, you’ll receive your covered health care services.

Your monthly premium depends upon the plan you choose:

Need extra help with health plan and drug costs?

If you have limited income and resources, you may qualify for a low-income subsidy from the federal/state government. When you join Security 65, Medicare will tell us how much extra help you are getting. Then, we will let you know the amount you will pay. If you qualify, your drug costs will also be lower.

You can see if you qualify for a low-income subsidy by calling:

  • 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) (TTY/TDD 1-877-486-2048), 24 hours a day/7 days a week
  • Pennsylvania Office of Medical Assistance Programs (Medicare and Medicaid) at 1-717-787-1870
  • The Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY/TDD 1-800-325-0778), 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday

Security 65 is not offered nor guaranteed under our contract with the Medicare program. In addition, Security 65 is not subject to the Medicare appeals process. Any disputes may be subject to the Security 65 appeals process.
